More Birthday Party Pictures

We made a book, "Going to the Beach", a "Pink Flamingo Publication", for Asher and Leila. Using pictures from our trips to Navarre, the story tells all the reasons we love going to the beach. We hope they will enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed writing it for them. In her pink grass skirt, I really think Leila has aspirations of one day becoming a "pink flamingo queen" like Lala! She definately has queenly qualities; and at such a young age!

Leila's 1st Birthday!

Leila is walking, and she was so proud to show grandpa and Lala what she could do. We didn't get tired of walking with her, or of making silly faces with her! Asher is part fish! It didn't matter that his lips were turning blue, he wanted to be in the water! And he (and his parents) are so proud that he is completely potty trained--even when involved in swimming! He is such a big boy!

Leila's First Birthday Party

Our grandaughter's 1st birthday was Thursday, August 21. We celebrated her birthday with family and friends on Saturday, August 23. We had a great time! Just wanted to share some pictures of her, Asher, and her mom and dad.

The BIG 50!

Well, it's official--I am half a century old! Sure don't feel it, but my age actually is 50. Jerry surprised me with a most romantic serenade of "Happy Birthday" this morning as I sat fixing my hair for school. Then he surprised me with a beautiful diamond/peridot earring and necklace set. Such a pretty green color, and I didn't always think my birthstone was pretty...but this is lovely! A dear friend delivered a beautiful bouquet to me at school today, friends sent e-cards, family members called, then Jerry took me to dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant for the best filet in town---Bravo Italia is the best! Now I am so stuffed that I can barely stay awake, but I wanted to post these pictures. It's been an extraordinary birthday, and I am here to say that if I knew turning 50 would be this much fun, this special, and this romantic...I would have done it a long time ago!

50th Birthday Celebration!

I have a precious and amazing husband. He planned a birthday celebration for my upcoming 50th birthday, complete with 38 family members and friends. The grim reaper even showed up in the form of my former principal! She had me fooled--I never would have guessed it was her! He drove to Ozark for pulled pork and potato salad, to Sallisaw for ribs (really pork loin lollipops!) and beans, he made cold cheese dip and guacamole, and got me a fantastic cake from a local bakery. We had a feast! Mom helped me display pictures from infancy through today. I am so appreciative of family and friends taking time to share the evening with me! The cards and gifts were so sweet, and most of them were kind and funny reminders of my age! Thanks, friends! Thanks my sweets for a fun evening!

More Beach Pictures

I haven't posted for a while--I've been back at school since August 8th, as well as completing a 3-week on-line graduate class. I'm thankful to say I just completed and turned in my final project! So, I wanted to share some pictures of Jerry and I that my sister, Phyllis, took for us at the beach. We've never had such nice and professional looking photos....thanks Phyllis! Hope you enjoy them.
